Okinawa Travel - The island of Okinawa is the largest of more than 140 islands in Okinawa Prefecture of which only 47 are have residents. The island is strategically located at a point that is equidistant from Tokyo, Taiwan, Seoul and the Philippines.
Although clearly part of Japan, Okinawa has it’s own unique legacy, spoken language, and distinct culture. In the last two decades Okinawan culture has become more popular throughout Japan because of popular artists and local foods. This beautiful island has the unrealized potential of becoming a popularresort destination for people from all over the globe.
Okinawa is subtropical with temperatures even in winter usually above 15°C. This makes the area a popular winter destination, although much of the time it is cloudy and a bit too cool for the lying on the beach. Okinawa is subject to a monsoon season in late winter and spring.
