With the billions of websites on the Internet and millions of hosting companies, isn’t it time to leave your footprint on the web? By signing up with a web hosting company, you can do so for personal or business reasons. Isn’t it about time you see what all the fuss is about?
There are myriad good reasons for people to start new websites. As thousands of online entrepreneurs, small business owners and vendors can tell you, the possibility of making money is certainly a major reason. However, many sites exist primarily to spread information and knowledge around the world.
Some people just want a personal site to tell the world about themselves and their lives. No matter what your motives, you can make a site that suits you.
A huge industry has grown for web hosting due to a boom of different sites now on the internet. There are thousands of well-known and less known hosting companies around. A less known hosting company isn’t a bad thing, though not all of the not so well known hosting companies are suited to everyone’s needs.
Some things that you will want to take note of when searching for a hosting service are their price and their limitations. Many hosting services will have a limited amount of space or bandwidth that your site can utilize. This isn’t much of a problem for smaller sites, but limitations like these can have a signficant impact on larger enterprises, who will generally opt for sites with large or unlimited amounts of space of bandwidth.
Price, of course, is tied to this. While there are many cheap hosting options available, in some cases you get what you pay for. Don’t be afraid to spend a bit more on a quality host. It is a small price to pay for such an important service.
When choosing a web hosting service, read the fine print! Most hosting companies are up front with their policies, but a few unscrupulous services will bury hidden fees or technicalities in their privacy policy or terms of service. Don’t let this happen to you. Read everything you can about a company before entrusting your money and personal information to it.
If you do not want to use a full blown web hosting service, there are several hosting alternatives you can try. One alternative is to use a blog site. While these are generally better suited to personal pages, they are free and require much less time and information from you than many hosts will.
Many of the social networking sites will also let you create a personal space on the Internet. Any of these methods will work and allow you, too, to make your mark online.
Most of these free services are only for personal websites. When you are ready to build a site for your company, or one you expect will get quite a bit of traffic, then the best idea is to get a website hosted with a legitimate web hosting service.
If you pay close attention you will notice that in general cost is not always related to the quality of service received. Often, cost-effective web hosting services can be extremely trustworthy. It’s very important to look into this before committing to one service.
For super cheap web hosting see cheap web hosting with hosting packages from only $2.75 per month. You only pay for what you need. Howard Brule does article marketing that rocks. This article is available as a unique content article with free reprint rights.

In your world or just the business world in general autoresponders may be just the thing that you need to get your business under control. These types of autobots will make responding to emails and others things easier than having to write them yourself. These are great to have and are good to have if you are running a business and can't afford to stop and type to a single person or customer.

The best feature they are known for is to be able to respond to emails and messages quickly so people will think you are talking to them. If you use one of these then you wont have to spend time answering emails for hours ever again it will do it for you. You will be able to live free and not have to respond to all those emails.

Making the Grade with an Online College Degree - by Andy West
The online college degree is now a legitimate mainstay of education. Even though the hectic world that adults have created for themselves can be somewhat overwhelming, there are good things that develop out of it. Thanks to the Internet, adults looking to further themselves both personally and vocationally can do so with an online education.
An online education is simply easier and more convenient than attending an onsite college. The cost in not only tuition but also travel time and concentration is the reason many working adults only toy with the idea of returning to school. With a full schedule that already balances a career and home life, many are turned off by the idea of adding more to their plate...

A Fundamental Overview Of Pay Per Click Search Engines
by Kirk Bannerman
Forbes magazine has reported that pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least $8 billion by 2008.
The three fundamental core elements that form the basis of a successful pay per click ad program are constant monitoring, analysis, and refinement.
Pay per click search engines offer a way to buy your way to the top of search results for any term you wish. With proper management, and a clear focus, pay per click search engines can offer some of the most well targeted and economical advertising on the Internet.
Pay per click advertising works through a bidding process, and the ads appear prominently on the results pages of search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The highest bidder for a particular word or phrase receives top placement, and depending on the engine, the top three to five bidders also generally also receive placement on the first page of unpaid search results.

Google Checkout Aiming Right at PayPal
When it comes to online payment processing, PayPal has become the default alternative to traditional credit card processors. Would-be competitors have come and gone over the last few years, but none have really made a dent in PayPal's dominance.
But now the online search giant Google is quietly expanding its already existing online payment processing services. And many think Google has its sites set squarely on PayPal.
The two major alternatives for online payment are credit card processing systems and PayPal. Paypal got its start processing payments for eBay, and since then has carved out a huge niche by providing a service to smaller merchants who can't be bothered putting the complicated and expensive systems in place to handle direct credit card purchases.
Google's CEO Eric Schmidt says it wants to provide a service that is "not like PayPal at all." Initially it will be targeted at advertisers -- presumably the kind who use Adwords and Adsense, and the Google classified service called Google Base.
In fact, this system started out as a Google Base payment service in late February. Google Base browsers have been able to purchase things like videos, maps, and Adwords advertising using their Google accounts, and the buzz is that Google and Yahoo are working with Wyse Technology to build bargain-priced PCs that they will sell directly online.
Since Google is already dealing with thousands and thousands of regular payments both from (Adwords) and back to (Adsense) advertisers and webmasters, it is obvious that the company has been in the "payment processing" business for some time. Google just sees their recent moves as a natural expansion of already existing services.
But of course it is much more than that. Google wants to make Google Base a viable competitor with both eBay and Craiglist and adding payment processing should go a long way to make the service more attractive.
Google currently charges $.25 plus 2.5% per transaction (for transactions under $3,000) as compared to PayPal's transaction fees of 2.9% plus $.030.
The Google service, dubbed GBuy by analysts, was rolled out last week, but is still only available to U.S. based sellers of Google Base products.
Meanwhile, Google has moved ahead with its initiative called Google Checkout. This appears to be little more than an extension of the Google Base payment system mentioned above. The difference is that Google is extending the payment service to U.S. merchants not directly involved with either Google Base or Adwords.
Merchants who sign up can have Google process credit card payments at .20 plus 2% per transaction. This is cheaper than PayPal. Also, merchants who also use Adwords can earn credits based on dollars spent on Adwords.
Adwords ads will also display a little Google Checkout logo if the merchant is signed up for the program.
Further information will be forthcoming as soon as we've had a chance to look at the program in more depth.

Google has just unveiled a "Sneak Peek" of a new little utility called Google Spreadsheets. This is part of the company's attempt to create a suite of free or almost free online office tools that will make a dent in the Microsoft dominance in this area.
Spreadsheets is still in development, but Google has made the online program available for a limited number of testers. You sign up and they will let you know if you have been chosen as a tester -- assigned on a first come first served basis.
According to the online presentation, Google Spreadsheets will let you create basic spreadsheets from scratch, "including changing the number format, sorting by columns, and adding formulas." It will also let you upload already existing .csv and .xls worksheets and retain their formatting when imported.
You can give other people access to your online spreadsheets too. Permission is done via email address. You just enter the email addresses of others who you want to share your spreadsheets, and they are sent an invitation. As soon as they sign in they have access, and can view or modify the spreadsheet at the same time as anyone else who is signed in.
When more than one team members is signed in a chat window opens up so they can communicate with each other as changes are made.
Storage is online (on a Google server), so you have access to your spreadsheets whenever you have access to the web. You can also save them locally in .csv, .xls or .html format.
In a recent issue of WebProNews, staff writer David Utter says, "Google Spreadsheets looks interesting, and we're looking forward to playing with it when Google starts inviting people into the controlled beta. But without advanced features like macros or pivot tables, Google's newest Lab experiment just isn't close to Microsoft Excel."
I suspect, however, that many Excel users do not use a lot of the advanced features of the program, and, like me, often use it just as a means of creating a table of information. Another problem with Excel is that spreadsheets are not easily put on line and shared with others -- say, when working on a joint project. Google Spreadsheets addresses this problem head-on.
The fact is, you often don't need "macros and pivot tables" for these purposes. I can think of two or three current projects I am working on where being able to share information in table form, and where other team members could add to or modify table contents would be quite useful.
There have been a few times in the past when I wished putting an Excel spreadsheet online wasn't such a clunky exercise. Google Spreadsheets may not be a big money maker for Google, but it may turn out to be surprisingly useful, and will be another reminder that for many relatively mundane tasks it is not necessary to buy expensive software from Microsoft.

Because of increasing competition that has led to higher advertising costs with pay-per-click marketing, many battle-scarred - "do-it-yourself" - businesses have not realized their desired objectives. Although publicized as a straightforward, self-service marketing tool, pay-per-marketing involves far more knowledge than most businesses are able to invest in developing in-house. Faced with a moderately or less performing pay-per-click marketing program and the pressure to allocate resources elsewhere, many businesses choose to drop their pay-per-click marketing entirely - leaving a vast potential of sales for their competitors to harvest.
If you face pay-per-click marketing challenges, before you decide to drop the program, try these proven strategies to get it producing your desired results.

A reputable designer should have a set of standard terms and you should check they are fair and contain some basic provisions:
Check that you are getting a fixed-price fee deal unless you want to be signing an opened ended cheque;
If you have a fixed price contract with a specification of what you will get for your money, also make sure you agree how the designer will charge for extras. Agreeing a specification sets boundaries and makes sure that you do not pay too much and yet the designer can fairly get paid for extra work not agreed at the outset;

My Hosting Service, My Security Service: How much protection does your web host give you from identity theft...and how much can they?
There are laws now that protect us from identity thieves, sure, but oftentimes, by the time the law gets involved, the damage is already done. Your website may be defaced. Your name may be sullied. Your hosting service may have locked you out. You lose customers. You lose money. To recover, you have to regain lost ground, which also takes time and money. But what can you do to protect yourself? And can your web hosting service help?
In two words: they'd better. At the very least a hosting service in the age of spammers, hijackers, and hackers (oh my!) should at the very least have one or more firewalls protecting your data. They should also be able to offer you protection from Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, a common outcome of internet identity theft. Some hosting services may offer you a Virtual Private Network (at relevant expense, of course) for additional protection.

RSS is the latest craze in online publishing. But what exactly is RSS?
RSS or Rich Site Syndication is a file format similar to XML, and is used by publishers to make their content available to others in a format that can be universally understood.
RSS allows publishers to "syndicate" their content through the distribution of lists of hyperlinks.
It has actually been around for a while, but with the advent of spam filters and online blogging, it is fast becoming the choice of ezine publishers who want to get their message across to their subscribers.
However, not much attention has been given to the advantages RSS provides for search engine optimization.

by Dave Starner - Imagine you're the owner of a successful Web site, but when you logon one day all you get is an error message. Or worse yet, the domain name now points to a site full of advertisements. That's right. You're out of business.
This happens every day because of a perfectly legitimate process known as "drop catching," where people quickly snag the domain names owners have let expire and try to resell them or use the links associated with the names, which could be extensive, to create Web sites loaded with advertisements. You can easily avoid becoming a victim of a drop catcher by better understanding how the domain registration system works to protect your domain name.
